I'm a Christian first, a Kubuntu Linux Lover second, a geek third, and a writer fourth. I was born in New York City, and currently live in New Jersey. I run Kubuntu Linux instead of Windows, which I abhor with all of my heart. I'm an evangelical, non-denominational Christian who believes in the literal literary accuracy of the original Greek and Hebrew texts of the Bible. I have been home educated (aka homeschooled) my entire life. I use Gmail for my email, OpenOffice.org for my word processor, and Firefox for my web browsing.

As for politics, I'm a pretty conservative Republican. I usually try not to let that affect my friendships or conversations.

I also enjoy sports like baseball (da Yankees will win the Series one of these days), Ultimate Frisbee, and taekwondo. I recently got into tennis as well. And I've been playing fantasy football for three years now (never won, but won two weekly pick 'ems and came second in the "Lucky Picks Unite" pick 'em group of 2006).

This site would not have been possible without the Glossy Blue template by Chet Mancini, a great friend and programmer. While I don't use the template any more, it was a great inspiration for the current one (my own) and also very useful for learning CSS. The logo was done by Chet Cobb, another good friend and a graphics guru. Additionally, Tim Fau was the original host of this site. Without him... I'd still be using GeoCities. Lastly, I'd like to thank my current host, DreamHost.

Positive reviews of my writings:

I was never really interested in online applications or desktops until i read some of your articles, now I'm hooked. Thanks for keeping me informed on all the best online apps!

Andrew, I'd just like to commend you on your consistently fantastic, thoroughly researched and clearly presented articles. I've learned a lot from you. So thanks!

Online Apps is an extremely valuable resource. He continuously offers sound advice and a has fresh outlook out many tech-related things. Additionally, Online Apps is somewhat of a Google Guru and is very insightful on that topic as well as others.

I have watched OnlineApps develop a niche in the community and help many in pursuit of various software solutions to needs of all kinds. OnlineApps could be a solo tech section.

You are the Daddy when it comes to applications - thank god you are here helping out us computer layman! I would be in trouble if I didn't check your vine as regularly as I do! Thank you OA! your a star

Andrew, you've grown a lot since I first met you on the 'vine. At one point, you rubbed me the wrong way, but now I look forward to seeing your insightful comments as I browse the site.

If Andrew were ever to actually become a politician he would probably be the first that new how to work a computer.

Although we are on opposite sides of the [political] aisle, I wanted to let you know I have enjoyed reading your postings.

Actually one of my friends first read this article and asked me to visit this page. This article has very useful information, it will be helpful for many. It’s really amazing to read this description of this article. Thank you so much for your help and for your efforts.

good stuff. it's nice to see a civilized discussion between members on opposite ends of the political spectrum (and they said it couldn't be done). thanks for leading by example.

He mixes conservative politics with the latest in technology. Everytime I go there [my column], I learn something new.
